Technical glitch at Post Offices in Kent means staff unable to serve customers

People across Kent were unable to post letters or pay bills today after a technical glitch at Post Offices meant staff were unable to serve customers.

The fault, which affected many but not all of its outlets, has still not been fully identified and lasted for more than an hour.

The Post Office said the issue had now been resolved and apologised for the inconvenience caused to shoppers.

Rachel Lea tweeted this morning: “@PostOffice Do you have any idea of when ur systems will be up & running again? Visited Ashford Kent branch twice today & still broken.”

A Post Office spokeswoman said: “We apologise to customers for any inconvenience or delay caused by issues with our counter services at some branches earlier this morning. This has now been resolved.”
