Outdoor Logistics, of Wharf Road, Gravesend, enter Dartford and Gravesham Business Awards

Outdoor Logistics’ business may be national, but its roots are firmly in this part of Kent.

Chosen on account of its transport links and skilled, available staff, Outdoor Logistics founder and managing director Matt Horbacki felt Gravesend was an ideal place to set up business in 2012.

Focusing on outdoor media and image implementation throughout the UK, the Wharf Road firm has been steadily expanding and now employs a staff of 28, of which 62% live locally.

Mainly focusing on outdoor billboards and large posters, the company sets out to offer a different approach to the advertising people see when they are out and about, something known in the industry as Out of Home (OOH) advertising.

It designs and manufactures bespoke light-boxes in Gravesend for use across the country.

Operations director Paul Driscoll said: “Outdoor Logistics currently maintains and posts the largest static advertising panel in Europe.

“On a day-to-day basis we install graphics for many blue-chip fragrance and cosmetics companies and build and install large format advertising panels – the kind you see at the side of the road.”

Guerrilla marketing and flash mobs are also something the company offers.

These methods aim is to cast a more lasting impression on consumers and are often a more personalised approach to advertising. A well-known mobile phone company used it in a London main rail station.

This type of marketing is ideal for small businesses requiring reaching a large audience without breaking the bank. It also is used by large companies to support larger media campaigns.

The Dartford and Gravesham Business Awards are supported by the Messenger and each entrant gets a free profile in our newspapers and online. To find out more, visit www.dgbawards.co.uk before Friday, July 31.
