Miss Cairns, 33, from Strood, said: “I’ll be talking to politicians about how to be active and the role it plays during a crisis.

“It is all still really new to them. They are in the early stages.

“However they are keen to learn after seeing how terrorists use social media and the way it spread information about the earthquake in Nepal.

“They need to be up to date on tracking and monitoring things going on.”

The high profile booking is the latest in a long-list of international speaking engagements for Miss Cairns, who has previously addressed delegates in Dubai, Poland, the Netherlands, India and Ireland.

She will speak in Madrid on Tuesday, June 2, advising public relations officers of a £1.2 billion company on social media policy.

She set up her business in 2010 after discovering the power of social media when she used Facebook to attract investors while she was a financial advisor to a mortgage broker.
