The Apprentice hits Kent with Dover, Folkestone, Herne Bay and Whitstable all featured

As Lord Sugar and his brigade of new hopefuls returned to our screens last night, you may have noticed some familiar sights.

The Apprentice candidates were in Kent, visiting the shops and restaurants we all know and love, trying their hand at discount buying and ultimately fighting to avoid those two chilling words: "You're fired".

The BBC One show featured shots of Whitstable, Margate, Ramsgate, Herne Bay, Sandwich, Dover and Folkestone, and we've pulled out our five favourite parts of the episode.

1. We were proud to see the teams fully engrossed in the garden of England… as they shovelled manure. In the eloquent words of Lord Sugar, the girls' "Jimmy Choos became Jimmy Poos".

2. We were also glad to see the candidates charming the locals. Sales account manager Mergim Butaja pulled out all the stops in Herne Bay's Hudson's Fish. As he negotiated a deal, he pleaded: "I will love you forever and you even had the pleasure of meeting me today". True love or fishy business?

3. The girls team returned to Sharp and Enright in Dover FOUR times before they bought an extortionate £250 inflatable boat... while the boys spent a tenner in a toy shop in Whitstable.

4. The teams sorted their game plans in the tunnels underneath Dover Castle so the nation enjoyed a sneaky peak of one of Kent's historical gems. We especially enjoyed it when Twitter went into overdrive after plumbing business owner Joseph Valente said: "Selling is negotiating but flipped the other way round". If you say so.

5. As always, the candidates showed off their impressive knowledge which will help them to become Alan's perfect business partner. Elle Stevenson, who works in construction, showcased this at the beginning of the episode. She said: "Where is Dover? I know it's on the coast but what coast? Maybe we're going to Ireland." As always, the Twittersphere erupted as the scenes played out last night to millions of viewers across the country. Here's five of our favourite Twitter reactions:
