The first charter airline flight arrived at Lydd Airport yesterday.
Crowds gathered to watch the Boeing 737 jet land.
It comes days after the airport won a long High Court battle over its plans to expand the runway and terminal which would see the airport cater for holidaymakers.
The plane, operated by Lithuanian based Small Planet Airlines, landed just after lunchtime and attracted lots of attention from residents.
Campaigners against the expansion of the airport mooted their concerns at the aircraft's arrival pointing to noise levels and the proximity to the Dungeness nuclear power station.
Lydd Air, a charter flight company based at the airport, posted this video to their Facebook page saying it was hopeful of one of hundreds to come.
