Fourteen primary schoolchildren from Kent have been injured in a coach crash today.

The incident happened on an A20 roundabout off junction 13 of the M20 at 9.45am.

The coach was carrying children from years 2 and 3 from Guston Church of England Primary School in Dover.

Kent Police are at the scene.

South East Coast Ambulance Service is also attending and is currently assessing and treating minor injuries at the scene.

Initial reports stated ten children have been taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries. That number has now risen.

Kent Police Chief Inspector Geoff Wood said: "We do not believe there are any serious injuries, however precautionary measures are being taken.

"Where appropriate those injured will be taken to hospital to be treated or for further assessment.

"Only once we have ensured the safety of all those involved, we will then begin an investigation as to how this incident has occurred."

Police said parents of the children have been informed of what happened by the school.
