2 killed in road crashes

TWO people have died in separate crashes on the county's roads.

Police say one died in Birchwood Road, Hextable near Swanley. It is believed that three people were in the car which crashed at about 4.00am Sunday.

In the other incident a man in his 30s died on the A296 near the Bluewater shopping centre at Greenhithe.

Fire crews from Dartford arrived at 1am on Sunday morning to find the car already burning.

A spokesman said they extinguished the flames to get to the victim and used inflatable bags to lift the car and allow paramedics access but it was clear he had died. No other vehicle is thought to be involved at this stage.

The two people killed have not yet been named by police.
