Change of ownership at cinema

Odeon cinema group has taken over ownership of the Odeon Chatham.

The movie house was previously managed by the company and owned by Dickens World, Chatham Maritime, but now an agreement has been reached for Odeon to acquire the cinema outright.

Planned investment includes new seating, fast ticket machines and a Costa Coffee cafe.

Chief operating officer Roger Harris said: “We hope film fans in Chatham will enjoy the new features we plan to introduce to their local Odeon cinema in the following months.”

Odeon & UCI Cinemas Group is the biggest operator in Europe and largest in the world outside of the Americas with 236 cinemas and 2,179 screens. In the UK it has 112 cinemas and 869 screens.
