Bickley Park produced a remarkable batting recovery to beat Beckenham by 57 runs in the Shepherd Neame Kent League, Premier Division on Saturday.

After choosing to bat, Park were in trouble at 73-5 but then Dan Magin took centre stage, hitting exactly 100 not out off 79 balls with five sixes and 10 fours as the visitors closed on an unlikely 246-6.

Shell-shocked Beckenham struggled in reply and were bowled out for 189 with Nayan Doshi and Phil Browning claiming three wickets each.

Hartley Country Club retain top after their one-wicket win at Lordswood.

With Lyndon Lockhart making a half century, Lordswood looked set to post a decent total on 127-3 but Charlie Hemphrey (4-47) and Jack Laraman (3-20) skittled their lower order and they collapsed to 162 all out.

However, Dan Masters and Matt Greenwood took three wickets each as Lordswood made Hartley fight all the way and the leaders were grateful to James Thompson (59 not out) as he guided them home with one wicket left.

There was also a close finish at Lyminge where Sibton Park beat Sevenoaks Vine by two runs in a game reduced to 35-overs-a-side.

Andy Allon (50) and Tim Bishop (34) gave Park a good start with a 75-run opening partnership but the rest of the batting was disappointing and they finished on 140-7. But the Vine lost wickets at regular intervals in reply and with three balls remaining, Jake Benfield trapped last man Tom Parsons to give the home side victory.

Blackheath powered to a 190-run victory over visitors Bexley. Skipper Chris Willetts led the way with 85 and Aiden Blizzard added 79 to help Blackheath total 299-7 and then Warne Lee (5-21) wrecked the Bexley tail as they were rushed out for 109 in the 28th over.

The highest total of the day was made by Bromley after they had been invited to bat at Whitstable.

Wayne Morgan made a fine 126 and with good support from Miguel Barbosa (51) and Charlie Walker (45), Bromley declared at 311-8 after 52 overs. Whitstable also found Dominic Read (5-66) a handful and, despite an unbeaten 66 by Piers Richardson, they were dismissed for 221.
