It’s six of the best for the University of Kent’s group accommodation.

For a record-breaking sixth year in a row, Group Travel Organiser’s Best University Accommodation for Groups award went to the Canterbury-based team.

TV presenter Helen Skelton presented the award in London’s Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel.

The University fought off stiff competition from King’s College, London, St Aidan’s College, Durham University, and the Universities of Exeter, Portsmouth, and York. Readers of Group Travel Organiser magazine vote for the award.

Kevin Stuckey, residences and conferences manager, said: “It’s simply fantastic to win this award for the sixth year running and we are so grateful to our regular clients who continue to enjoy our facilities and support us year after year.

“It’s also particularly pleasing that during the summer of 2012 we were proud to accommodate a large number of new groups who were in the UK specifically for the London Olympic and Paralympic Games. Continuous investment in our accommodation together with a fair pricing policy, are key reasons for our year-on-year success in attracting groups to the university.”

Groups are offered a wide range of accommodation options – from self-catering flats (each sleeping 5/6 people) to single standard or en-suite rooms in halls of residence on a room-only or B&B basis. Group rates start from £17.75 per person (self-catering).
