Appeal after man dies in road crash

A MAN died after his car crashed into an electricity sub-station in Hawkhurst at the weekend.

The 46-year-old victim, who lived in the area, was taken to the Kent and Sussex Hospital at Tunbridge Wells but pronounced dead on arrival.

The accident, at the junction of the High Street and Delmonden Road, happened at about 10pm on Saturday. The man was driving a blue TVR. The cause of the crash is not yet known.

Firefighters from Hawkhurst, Cranbrook and Paddock Wood arrived on the scene to assist an ambulance crew but did not have to cut the driver free.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the crash. Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to contact PC Allen at Weald Police on 01233 611055.
