Are British manners changing as we drop adverbs?

British people could be getting more abrupt according to new research.

It is thought adverbs such as rather, fairly and quite, which are used to avoid causing offence or confrontation, could be falling out of use.

Dr Laura Bailey, from the University of Kent, has been explaining why adverbs are not being used as regularly anymore.
