Body found on railway track

AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a body was found on a railway line early today.

The body, thought to be that of a man in his 20s, was found on the London-bound tracks under a bridge at Buckland Road, Maidstone.

It was discovered by students on their way to school at about 8.30am.

Police said that injuries suggested the victim may have been hit by a train. Officers from the British Transport Police, who are investigating, confirmed they are not treating the death as suspicious.

The body has not yet been formally identified.
