A BOY of 16 has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop after a car he was driving was involved in a collision in Jenkins Hill, Leysdown, near Sheerness, at about 1.20pm on Friday.

As a result of the collision, a second 16-year-old boy suffered extensive leg and arm injuries and was taken to the Medway Maritime Hospital at Gillingham by air ambulance.

The occupants of a second car were treated for suspected minor injuries.

Kent Police have reported the incident to the Independent Police Complaints Commission as the vehicle had previously failed to stop for police.

No police vehicle was involved in the collision which is under investigation by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
