TENS of thousands of fans are expected at Brands Hatch this Easter weekend as the British Superbike Championship blasts into action for the first rounds of the 2007 season.

This year's competition promises to be exciting and cloesly fought, with a host of world class stars, seasoned professionals and determined youngsters battling it out.

Defending champion Ryuichi Kiyonari faces a strong challenge from his new team-mate Jonathan Rea.

The return of World Superbike legend Chris Walker, a four time runner-up, is a thrilling prospect, although local rider Tommy Hill is in contention for a podium finish at his home circuit.

Hill said: "The pressure is definitely on this weekend for everybody as it's the opening round.

"There are probably 10 riders that could win and with the race being on the GP circuit there will be plenty of passing maneuvers."

Tickets for the event are priced at £27 on the gate with admission free for children aged 12 and under.
