Car maker aids cancer sufferers

PEUGEOT has pledged that it will help raise at least £250,000 for Macmillan Cancer Relief for 2002. The funds will be raised through joint marketing and promotion initiatives with the charity and Peugeot has promised that it will more than match all the money raised through its dealer network.

Peter Cardy, chief executive of Macmillan Cancer Relief, said: "We are absolutely delighted that Peugeot chose us as its nominated charity for 2002. Forty per cent of people will develop some form of cancer at some stage in their lifetime and this can have a devastating effect on the patient, their families and loved ones.

"All Macmillan Cancer Relief work is funded by donations from the general public and organisations such as Peugeot." Tod Evans, managing director said: "Peugeot and its dealer network is proud to be able to assist in fund-raising efforts."
