Dover Castle is being given a new technicolour look this
weekend.

As well as transforming the Norman Keep into the Great Tower,
showing how it would have looked in the time of Henry II, the
outside is being given a much more modern make-over.

Light projections are being used to give the castle a stunning
new appearance at night. One of the tower’s enormous 35-metre walls
is being made into a blank canvas so that visitors can use a
computer programme to colour in the wall, using a virtual
paintbrush to create their own designs.

Tests were carried out on Thursday night and drew a large number
of motorists to top of Castle Hill to watch the designs changing
shape and colour.

The new lighting system is due to be switched on officially on
Saturday night.
