Cyclist killed in collision with car

A MAN was killed on Thursday when a car collided with his bike.

The accident happened at 1.15pm on the slip road of the A289 with the A2, London-bound, near the Cobham junction.

The cyclist, who has not been identified yet, is between 35 and 40-years-old.

He suffered serious head injuries and died at the scene.

A black Vauxhall Signum was involved with the crash.

The roads were closed until 2pm when the slip road onto the London-bound part of the junction was partially re-opened to ease traffic congestion.

Police are appealing for witnesses to call APS Julian Barton, from the serious collision unit investigations team on 01622 600970.
