Driver trapped after car overturns in ditch on M25 in Kent between M26 and Orpington

Commuters have been facing delays on the M25 in Kent after a car overturned and ended up in ditch this morning.

One lane was closed on the anti-clockwise carriageway between J5 for the M26 and J4 for Orpington.

Firefighters were called to the scene at about 8.35am to rescue the trapped driver.

The injured woman was taken to hospital by air ambulance suffering multiple injuries.

Congestion began to build as all traffic was briefly held.

Two lanes were soon reopened, but motorists were warned to expect delays.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said two crews were sent to the scene.
