Driver injured after Cuxton crash

A man was taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries after an early morning crash in Cuxton.

The accident happened in Charles Drive, when a car crashed into a parked people carrier.

Firefighters from Strood fire station and paramedics were called to the scene at about 2.15am Wednesday.

The crew used specialist cutting equipment to remove the door from the car to free the man.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: “We removed the windscreen and then the door to get the man out.

“He was take by ambulance to hospital with a suspected back injury.

“We were on the scene until about 3.30am making it safe."
