A Kent teenager became trapped between huge rocks while trying to retrieve his girlfriend's mobile phone.

Tom Clayton had to be rescued by a firefighter and a paramedic after getting stuck at the far end of the sea wall at Garrison Point, Sheerness on Friday.

The 16-year-old from Folkestone was trapped for 45 minutes until Sheppey fire station crew manager Tony Fox and paramedic Mark Rendall managed to hoist him put by the belt of his jeans.

Tom had been walking along the beach with his girlfriend when they decided to clamber over the rocks.

He said: "Her mobile phone fell between the rocks and I tried to climb down to get it but became stuck fast. I cannot praise the firefighter and paramedic enough."
