Kent election results could mean a long night in the general election

There could be a long wait for results to come through for the 17 seats in Kent and Medway.

Councils contacted by us estimated that declarations will be anytime between 1.30am and 7am.

Dover could be the first to declare, with the result due between 2am and 2.30am.

But voters in the three Medway seats could be in for a long wait with the returning officer suggesting the results will be between 6am to 7am.

These are the estimated times for other Kent seats:

  • Maidstone and the Weald: 5am
  • Canterbury: 3am to 4am
  • Ashford: 3am
  • Folkestone and Hythe: 3am
  • Sittingbourne and Sheppey: 3am
  • Faversham and Mid Kent: 3am
  • Gravesham: 3am to 4am
  • Sevenoaks: 3.30am
  • Tonbridge and Malling: 4am

Thanet council said it was not making any estimated timing.

Other seats not listed as councils did not respond.

Polls close at 10pm tonight and Kent Online will be bringing you all the results throughout the night with reaction and analysis.
