Players and fans saw red as a pitchside row erupted into violence.

Police were called to Longmead Stadium in Tonbridge after two fans clashed while watching a match between Hildenborough and Lanes End teams on Saturday.

The argument between the supporters then burst onto the pitch, with some players becoming "verbally aggressive" towards one, police have confirmed.

A 22-year-old Tonbridge man had to be treated for injuries to his nose after the Darenth Avenue incident.

Hildenborough Athletic won the Vandanel Kent County League Division Two West match 2-1 and top the division, having won all six of their league matches this year. Lanes End lie eighth, following their third consecutive league defeat.
