A man has been left blind in one eye after a fight in a Folkestone pub.

The 54-year-old was drinking with a friend when he got involved in an argument with three other men near the toilets at The Royal George.

He was left with severe swelling to his left eye after being punched four or five times at the Beach Street venue.

The man was treated in hospital for a fractured eye socket and nerve damage. The sight in his left eye is not expected to return.

A 48-year-old man, from Folkestone, has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He has been released on police bail pending investigations.

The fight happened at around 10.45pm on Friday, November 23 - but Kent Police have only just released details.
