Fire crews battle Yalding farm blaze

Around 36 firefighters were needed to tackle a blaze which broke out at a farm in a village near Maidstone.

A spokesmand for Kent Fire and Rescue said the fire started just before 4.30am Monday in a machinery building at the farm in Lughorse Lane, Yalding.

By 9am the operation had been scaled down to around 18 firefighters.

Nobody was hurt.

The spokesman added that an investigation would get under way as to the cause after the fire was out.
