Firefighters have been dealing with two large haystack fires in Kent overnight.

Crews were called to Southfleet after 600 bales of hay were alight just off the A2 in the early hours.

Foxhounds Lane in the village was still closed this morning.

Firefighters were also called to Archers Court Road, in the Whitfield area of Dover, after a haystack fire.

The blaze comes after a huge haystack fire in Wainscott, Medway, at the weekend.

Firefighters spent four hours tackling the blaze in Islingham Farm Road on Saturday night.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said it was "possible" the fire was started deliberately.
