A four-year-old girl is recovering in hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Canterbury yesterday afternoon.

Police were called to Broad Oak Road just after 3pm after an accident involving a silver Ford Mondeo and a blue Toyota Auris.

A girl and a male passenger in the Ford Mondeo were both thought to have suffered life-threatening injuries, but are now both in a stable condition.

The child's mother and six-year-old brother were taken to the QEQM Hospital in Margate with less serious injuries.

Those in the Toyota, a 16-year-old passenger and female driver, were also taken to the QEQM Hospital.

Police reopened Broad Oak road at 9.25pm. Witnesses are asked to contact the SCIU on 01622 798538.
