Medway Council's leader insists the Gillingham Football Club shirt sponsorship deal will not cost a penny, as the row about the deal rumbles on.
Opposition have called the deal inappropriate, saying it comes at a time when cuts are being made to other services.
But both the Gills and Medway Council, headed up by Alan Jarrett, say the deal is not financially motivated.
