Gillingham goalkeeper Ross Flitney is set for a second loan spell at Eastleigh Town.

The 28-year-old has already spent one month with the Blue Square Bet South side, before being recalled due to Stuart Nelson’s recent suspension.

Flitney (pictured) sat on the bench during Gillingham’s FA Cup defeat at Preston, as understudy to Southampton loanee Tommy Forecast.

Nelson’s return from suspension has meant that Flitney has once more found himself down the pecking order.

Flitney started the season injured and has yet to make an appearance for Martin Allen’s League 2 side.

Gills boss Allen confirmed the move during Thursday’s press conference and also revealed that young forward Ashley Miller was also heading back out on loan. He recently had a spell at Ramsgate.

Elsewhere, second year scholar Aaron Millbank has signed for Herne Bay on a month’s loan while Sam Bewick has also joined Simon Halsey’s side, from Maidstone United.
