Kent Highways' gritters to treat main county roads

Gritters will be out tonight with Highways bosses predicting road surface temperatures reaching freezing point by 6am Sunday.

A gritting alert was issued this afternoon with motorists being urged to take care.

Roads are likely to be slippery with drivers told to be wary of ice patches particularly on untreated roads.

People are also being warned to avoid aggressive steering and braking and to drive slower than they might usually do.
