Heavy snow leads to panic buying in Kent

Shoppers have reported panic buying at supermarkets in Medway and other parts of Kent after heavy snow hit the county.

The shelves of some stores are said to have been stripped of bread and milk as people prepare for more snow - resulting from a weather front dubbed the Beast of the East - in the coming days.

The Tesco store in Gillingham is among those affected.

It comes after police were called when an argument broke out between staff and a customer stockpiling milk at a shop in Lenham.
