KentOnline has seen its audience increase by 83% year on year, today's official figures have revealed.

The huge audience growth continues a trend that saw KentOnline, operated by the family-owned KM Group, named the UK's fastest-growing regional news network in both the July to December 2013 and January to June 2014 ABC release.

The site was relaunched to work better on tablets and smartphones in March last year.

KM Group editorial director Ian Carter said: "This huge leap in audience is a credit to everyone who contributes to KentOnline, be that our journalists, advertising staff or technical team.

"KOL is firmly establishing itself as the first port of call for anyone interested in news, sport or entertainment in Kent.

"It is important we continue to develop KentOnline to ensure our audience continues to grow.

"We are rapidly expanding our video content and have just relaunched our entertainment platform."

The figures mean KentOnline continues to be the fastest growing news network in the UK.
