Around 60 firefighters have been tackling a large fire at a factory in Northfleet overnight.

They were called to the Kimberly Clark building on Crete Road just after 9pm last night, where a blaze started in the roof.

At its height 10 fire engines attended, plus one one height vehicle and two support units.

At just before 11pm the blaze was said to have spread to all levels, including the roof, with sprinklers set off inside.

Earlier this morning, the specialist Urban Search and Rescue team used heavy-duty cutting equipment to remove roof cladding.

The site was evacuated, but crews left the scene at 4am today.
