KentOnline has seen its audience grow by 91% year-on-year, today's official statistics have revealed.

It means the network's audience of unique monthly browsers now stands at 1.218m, up 33% on the previous six month period, according to ABC figures.

The huge audience growth continues a trend that saw KentOnline, operated by the family-owned KM Group, named the UK's fastest-growing regional news network in the July to December 2013 ABC release.

KentOnline's audience has grown by 15% in the past year

It comes on the back of a relaunch of the network on mobile and tablet-friendly templates in March of this year.

KM Group editorial director Ian Carter said: "These are really pleasing figures and reflect the dedication of staff across the company.

"There are many different strategies for growing your digital audience, but we have opted to concentrate on what we do best - high-quality, relevant local journalism that serves our readers well and delivers the best results for our advertisers.

"Our newspapers remain a vital part of our portfolio but our digital growth, along with the recent strong Rajar result for our radio stations and the award of the TV licence for Maidstone and Tonbridge, show we are continuing to develop as a truly multimedia company."
