A man smuggled himself into the county by hiding under a coach full of UK Border Agency officials.

The Home Office has admitted the man concealed himself between the chassis of the vehicle and the fuel tank on the French side of the Channel Tunnel.

He was spotted getting off at Folkestone - but the officials failed to catch him and he remains on the run.

A spokesman for the Home Office said a full investigation was under way.
