A computer-generated image of one of the two men police want to speak to in connection with an alleged serious sexual assault at Viking Bay in Broadstairs has been released.

Police are continuing to patrol the beach after the reported incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The victim - a local woman in her 40s - had walked along the beach and sat down on the sand by the steps at the Louisa Bay end at around 1am. She claims to have been approached by two men and attacked.

Both of the men are white and it is thought neither of them had English as their first language.

The suspect in the computer-generated image is around 6ft, of medium build with dark hair.

A police spokesman said: "He has some 'scraggy stubble' on his chin and what has been described as 'staring, forceful eyes'."

Det Insp Lee Whitehead from Kent Police's major crime department said the victim had been unable to provide an efit for the second suspect.

The other suspect is described as shorter, more stocky with lighter coloured hair.

Police are appealing for witnesses. The spokesman added: "There were people on the beach around the time of the attack, including a barbecue beach party.

"If you were on the sands between 12.30am and 2am Sunday, please contact police so you can be eliminated from the inquiry."
