Stations to shut as London Underground workers go on Tube strike

Kent commuters are set to be caught up in a London Underground strike which threatens to bring the service to a grinding halt.

The 24-hour Tube strike is due to start at 6.30pm tonight after talks broke down between unions and London Underground.

Drivers have rejected management's proposals ahead of the introduction of the new night service.

It is the second time tube stations across the capital have shut down, after a 24-hour walkout on July 8-9.

London Underground apologised for the disruption, saying they had put forward an "extremely fair revised offer".

Transport for London is advising commuters to finish their journeys before the action begins, but around 250 extra buses are being laid on during the strike.
