Kent academy wicketkeeper Sam Billings notched up an impressive century in only his second first class innings on Monday.

The 19-year-old, from Fawkham, who joined the professional staff at Kent earlier this year, has been captaining Loughborough MCCU against Northamptonshire this week.

Despite being at the early stage of his career, his performance with the bat earned him a maiden first class century.

Billings (pictured) began Monday's play on 33 and he soon advanced to three figures with 131 before the game ended with Loughborough declaring on 267 for 9, building a lead of 175.
