Kiwi rockers thrill fans with return visit

So So Modern - so so brilliant
So So Modern - so so brilliant

Kiwi rockers So So Modern headline a show at the West Coast bar on Margate tonight (Wednesday).

The band are described as “a dynamic and infectious mix of fast-paced electronica, squelchy synth funk and nu-wave punk rock all the way from Wellington in New Zealand.”

This is their third and probably last show in the town in just under a year. Their previous gigs have been popular and have included crowd-surfing, standing ovations and exhausted life-long fans.

One fan said: “The band’s unbridled excitement, sense of urgency and boundless enthusiasm never fail to inspire a good time and make them the perfect party band, not to mention that seemingly endless touring all over the world has made them the tightest, most professional, synth-based Kiwi combo alive."

One of the best bands to hit Margate this year and already getting major positive press from fanzines, major music glossies and websites, So So Modern are guaranteed to be big news soon.

They are supported by Lakes, a Kent band that plays a ferocious torrent of hardcore garage rock. They manage to still retain their melodic sensibilities and harmonies whilst delivering gargantuan riffs and skull-splitting beats. The bill is completed by The Sketch and International Lover, plus DJs.

The gig runs from 8pm to midnight and is for over16s only. Tickets are £4.50 or £4 with a flyer.
