kmfm has given one lucky woman the best opening to any advent calendar with a £1,000 cash prize.

Listeners had been entering throughout the day to win the jackpot and it was Jennifer Skilton, of Walderslade, who was randomly selected as the first December winner.

But it might not have ended up that way if two other people picked out of the hat before her had answered their phones.

Rob Wills on kmfm Drivetime made the surprise call and Jennifer's initial reaction was to let out a victorious: 'Yes'.

Shocked at receiving the call, she was still thinking about what to spend the money on, although it's most likely to be Christmas presents.
