Lorry spill causes rush-hour chaos

Motorists on a Kent motorway faced traffic misery during this morning's rush-hour after a lorry's fuel tank spilt spilling diesel all over the carriageway.

The incident happened at around 6.50am on the London-bound stretch of the M20 between junction 4 (West Malling) and junction 3 (Wrotham Heath).

Lanes were closed while the spillage is cleared up, causing "heavy congestion".

Police urged motorists to avoid the area if possible. The lorry has been recovered.

And there was another problem further east on the same motorway when a truck hit the central reservation between junction 10 (Ashford) and 11 (Hythe).

A lane was closed in both directions for repairs to the barrier.
