With sweeping views over a series of lakes and a stream to the countryside beyond, the Wren’s Nest really could be your ‘forever home’ and at the same time offer a regular income thanks to the two self-catering cottages within the grounds.

Dating back to Victorian times, the main house has been added to over the years to provide well-appointed accommodation, arranged over two floors.

On the ground floor are three reception rooms – a sitting room, snug and dining room – the kitchen/breakfast room, utility room, a cloakroom and one of the bathrooms.

On the first floor are five bedrooms, one with en-suite shower room, and the family bathroom.

The newly built holiday cottages – which have a 5* Gold Award from the English Tourist Board – are both detached single-storey buildings with white painted weather-boarded elevations under tiled roofs. They each have a lovely sitting room with French doors opening onto a terrace, a fitted kitchen, bedroom with fitted wardrobes and a bathroom.

There is also a guest suite (made up of bedroom and bathroom) attached to one of the cottages. Both cottages have double glazing and electric heating. Attached to each are laundry and linen storage rooms.

In the grounds is a 35ft long weather-boarded workshop, garage, shed and a summerhouse with outstanding views.

The Wren’s Nest is within the Cranbrook School Catchment Area. The house is on the outskirts of Hawkhurst, just off the B2244.
