A man has died after being knocked down by a lorry in Deal today.
The pedestrian, in his 70s and from the Deal area, was hit by the truck as he crossed Victoria Road.
The man, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kent Police were called to Victoria Road, at the junction with Marine Road, at about 11.40am.
Officers were at the scene, near Deal Castle, all afternoon and the road was shut in both directions.
They have spoken to several witnesses, but still want to contact the driver of a long wheelbase transit-type van that was among in the area at the time.
