A lorry driver has been arrested after a man was killed in a crash on the M25 this morning.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene after the HGV was involved in a smash with three cars on the clockwise carriageway between J4 for Orpington and J5 near Sevenoaks at about 10.15am.
A woman was also seriously injured in the crash, which left the road closed for more than seven hours and caused traffic chaos.
The clockwise carriageway re-opened at just 5.30pm, but delays remained.
The anti-clockwise carriageway was closed while an air ambulance landed to take the injured woman to a London hospital with injuries described as serious this morning.
Kent Police said the male lorry driver has been arrested in connection with the crash.
One vehicle reportedly overturned just before the A21 turn-off at J5.
Kent Highways said the clockwise carriageway was shut between J3 for Swanley and J5 for the M25 at about 10.50am - leading to heavy congestion.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said two crews were called to the scene at about 10.15am.
