Man seriously injured in A28 crash

A man was seriously injured and had to be cut free from the wreckage of his car after a two-car crash on the A28 Canterbury Road at Bilting.

A woman and a young child travelling in the other car involved were also hurt.

It happened just after 7.20am Wednesday and involved a Toyota Corrolla and Ford Fiesta.

Firefighters had to cut the male driver of the Toyota from the car.

A woman driving the Ford Fiesta suffered whiplash, while an 18-month-old child is thought to have sustained a head injury.

The crash caused significant congestion and diversions were put in place.
