A Broadstairs pharmacist has won two national awards for clinical service and design innovation in less than a month.

Pierremont Pharmacy in the town’s High Street was hailed for providing best Clinical Service of the Year at a glittering ceremony held at London’s Grosvenor Hotel.

The awards, sponsored by the Chemist and Druggist trade publication, is the main industry event attended by the main multiples around the country.

Stephen Foster, the owner of the business, said: “It is a great day for the whole team at Pierremont Pharmacy, and justifies the completely new direction we have tried to take with clinical pharmacy services.

“The panel was delighted with what we are offering our patients, and told us they believed ours was the model other pharmacies needed to follow in primary care.”

Last month the Pierremont Pharmacy won another Chemist & Druggist sponsored award. This time it was the Platinum Design Award for Pharmacy Service Innovation.

For 20 years The Platinum Design Awards have served to showcase pharmacies at the leading edge – those setting the trends in shop layout and retail presentation driving developments in service delivery. Mr Foster said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of my family, friends and colleagues, whose support has been invaluable in our achievement.

“This is made all the more remarkable by the fact we have only been trading for nine months. “Hopefully, we can work together to build on this success, and achieve even more next year!”
