London Bridge engineering works set to cause delays and cancellations for Southeastern passengers

Although strikes by Network Rail employees were called off yesterday, engineering works still spell travel misery for many this bank holiday weekend.

Both the TSSA and the RMT unions cancelled industrial action planned for Monday and Tuesday, yet major engineering works mean Kent's train travel will still be seriously impaired.

While Southeastern is promising a normal service on Monday and Tuesday, work connected with the Thameslink Programme - as well as work to improve lines in East Kent - will cause significant changes to services.

On Saturday Charing Cross, Cannon Street and Waterloo East stations will be shut.

Southeastern services won't serve London Bridge apart from Hastings services.
