A knife-wielding robber is being hunted by police after he carried out a raid at a food store in Chatham.

Detectives investigating the robbery, which happened at the Co-op store in Pattens Lane, last Wednesday have only just released details of the incident.

Today, they issued CCTV images of the offender.

He struck about 10pm wearing a black mask or balaclava and he went into the shop and threatened staff to hand over the cash.

After he was given a small amount of money, he left the store in the direction of Walderslade Road.

The robber is thought to be either white or Asian between 20 and 30 and was about 5ft 8in.
