Kent fast bowler Charlie Shreck has insisted they can still win promotion in the LV= County Championship this summer.

Despite suffering their first defeat of the season at Division 2 leaders Derbyshire last week, Shreck (pictured) believes Kent can get back on track quickly.

The 34-year-old said: "We have a good team ethic and are playing well. We have been playing some good four-day cricket and everyone is still positive.

"We are getting into those positions, we have to learn how to finish games off. We need to take 20 wickets not 19.

"We’ve still got to play Derbyshire at home and have to look to gain revenge on them."

Shreck took a season’s best haul of 9-140 against Derbyshire to take his championship return to 33 for the summer. He added: "We mustn’t sulk. It was a game we should have won but we let them off. Two bad sessions destroyed us."
