Pursuing police car collides with motorcyclist

A MOTORCYLIST was treated in hospital for a back injury after his machine and a police car were in collision following a pursuit in Broadstairs. A patrolling police car tried to flag the rider down for a routine check in St Peter’s yesterday afternoon. Repeated attempts to get the rider to stop failed.

A police spokeswoman said: “At times the rider drove onto the pavement, and then along a farm track between Green Lane and Millmead Road. The collision took place in Northdown Hill”

The 32-year-old rider from Margate was treated at the Queen Mother Hospital, Margate. Police will interview him on his release.
